Electronic collars are a modern tool for training, controlling, or locating dogs. We offer training collars, anti-bark collars, GPS collars, activity monitors, and fencing devices for owners and professional cynologists.
What is an electronic collar?
Electronic training collars are the most commonly purchased type. These make it possible to teach the dog commands such as “stay” or “come.” At the same time, training collars can be used to discourage bad habits (such as jumping on people, taking food from the table, running away, etc.). We recommend choosing training collars according to the breed or type of correction.
In our e-shop with electronic collars, we also have other collars for dogs and cats. The most sought are also anti-bark electronic collars, which teach the dog not to bark or prevent barking even in the absence of the owner. GPS collars, or locators, pinpoint the location of dogs, which is appreciated by owners whose dogs often stray. At the same time, we also recommend looking at electronic fences, which are a welcome aid for dog owners who regularly run in a designated area.
How to choose an electronic collar?
There are various electronic collars. The important thing is to choose the right type. You should consider the size of the dog in particular, but also, for example, the accessories or the different functions of the collars. We recommend choosing electronic collars based on type, breed size, functions and type of correction, features, and accessories.

So what is electronic collar?
An electronic dog collar (sometimes inaccurately referred to as an electric collar) is a modern training aid for fine-tuning a dog's training. Careful selection of a training collar is important to ensure it is tailored to your requirements and your dog's needs. Handle the collar with care and according to the instructions. A consultation with an expert will show you how to use the collar sparingly and confidently.
-
The electronic collar uses adjustable warning signals that make the dog uncomfortable. You can tell the correct strength of such a signal by the dog's reaction (the dog reacts but at the same time doesn't whine, etc.). Thanks to the remote control, the collars are maximally effective in situations where the dog is tempted by instincts, starts to chase animals, for example, and does not respond to commands. EOs can thus be a measure that helps responsible breeders to avoid many problems and risks associated with dog disobedience.

How will the electronic collar help me?
fine-tune off-leash walking with the dog
reliable calling or stopping of the dog (commands “stop,” “to me,” “to the leg,” and “stay”) unlearning of pulling on the leash, running after game, other dogs, cars, or people
for interrupting unwanted dog activities (“you must not”) - unlearning bad habits in everyday coexistence with people, e.g., taking food from the table, jumping on people, digging, eating excrement, unwanted barking, howling, etc.
practicing practically every training exercise, where the dog has to perform it as accurately and reliably as if it were on a (up to hundreds of meters long!) leash, eliminating the unwanted dependence on the leash, which the dog recognizes very well and adapts its behavior to it

Are electronic collars safe?
Electronic collars have been examined by the Central Commission for Animal Protection, which stated, among other things, "The so-called electronic collars have undergone a major technical development in the last 8-10 years and have nothing in common with their predecessors, which used a much higher intensity of electric current and completely, or almost completely, lacked any regulatory elements. For reasons of animal protection and standardization, the International Electronic Collar Manufacturers Association (ECMA) has been set up to look into this issue in depth and, in addition to its own research, also commissions studies from professional and scientific bodies. Today's modern products from reputable manufacturers associated with the ECMA fully respect animal welfare, and their use in many cases helps to replace some traditional methods of dog training, which can be far less animal-friendly."

When to start using the electronic collar?
It is recommended to use electronic collars from 6 months of age, when the dog has mastered basic obedience. Please read the manufacturer's instructions carefully. Choose the appropriate level of impulse (he should respond but not whine, etc.). Collars usually offer several levels of alert (sound signal, vibration, pulse, or spray). The dog soon becomes aware of the sequence of signals, so that it is then sufficient to use the sound or vibration signal.
-
What features do the collars offer?
The more functions a training collar has, the more precise the settings will be. The basic functions are an audible alert and an electrostatic pulse. Most of the electronic training collars sold today offer functions in various combinations and complement them with vibrations, for example. A spray can also be used for corrections. Basic functions:
Sound alert: can be used as a warning before the electronic pulse or as praise or to call the dog. The dog quickly learns that the impulse is preceded by an audible warning and learns to react already to the audible signal.
Vibration: serves as a moderate correction or to draw attention to the dog's praise. The intensity of the vibration can usually be adjusted in several levels. Vibration is more suitable as a correction signal for small and sensitive dogs.
Electrostatic pulse: It serves as a correction pulse and is used when the sound and vibration signals were too weak as a correction. It is ideal to choose a collar model that allows the strength of the pulse to be adjusted to different levels. This way you will find the most suitable level exactly for your dog. A low-intensity pulse can also be used as praise for the dog.
Spray correction: this is a correction by spraying from a small reservoir on the dog's collar. When the appropriate button is pressed, a spray is sprayed onto the dog's muzzle. This is the second most effective method of correction after the pulse signal.
Booster: The Booster has a higher pulse rate than you normally use for training. This function is intended for crisis situations, when the dog is chasing game and his ability to perceive is limited at that moment. The dog, therefore, does not react to the normal signal. A higher value is usually either fixed by the manufacturer, but more often this button is programmable.
Light: This function is not a correction, but rather an optional extra. For example, a flashlight on the controller, a laser “pointer,” or even a light on the receiver for better visibility of the dog during training in the dark. The remote light diode can be switched on using the remote control.
Anti-bark mode: some electronic collars have a built-in anti-bark mode that automatically detects and corrects the barking and howling of the dog. If the dog starts barking, the collar will activate and alert the dog with a correction signal. You can also purchase a purely anti-bark collar where this feature can be used separately.

How to choose an electronic training collar for each breed of dog?
The size and nature of the dog play a crucial role in the selection of an electronic training collar. If the dog weighs from about 5 kg to 50 kg, almost any model of training collars will be optimal for him. For small breeds, choose collars for small dogs that have a lightweight receiver and weaker correction, and vice versa for large breeds. If your dog is one of the breeds with a lowered pain threshold (usually fighting breeds) or hunting dogs with a tendency to instinctive reactions, it is always preferable to purchase a collar with the option of increasing corrections. In crisis situations (mainly instinctive dog behavior), it is ideal if the collar model is equipped with a booster function.
-
What range should I choose for the collar?
When choosing a training collar, also consider the range, i.e., the maximum distance you want to train the dog from you. The wide range varies from 200 to 4000 m depending on the model. The range will affect the area and nature of the terrain where you will be training the dog. The distance for training is always measured in laboratory conditions for the product, so please allow for a margin when choosing. If you are frequently in rugged or overgrown terrain, choose a collar with a longer range. A collar with a range of up to 350 m will also work very well for general use outside rough terrain.
-
Are electronic collars water resistant?
Another very important feature is the water resistance of the receivers. On our website you can choose products from 4 categories:
No protection—equipment must be kept in a dry environment
Waterproof—the receiver is only weatherproof (snow, rain) or humidity
Watertight—splash-proof when the dog runs through puddles and can be briefly submerged under water
Submersible—the collar can withstand immersion, and the dog can even swim with it
-
What kind of power does the collar use?
The power supply of the collar is also an important factor for selection. Especially the cheaper models of training collars are most often powered by ordinary 3V, 6V, or 9V batteries. Battery prices range from 50 to 150 CZK, and it is therefore advisable to take into account the running costs, which can be up to several hundred a year, when choosing a collar. Some training collars use atypical batteries or batteries that can only be bought from the manufacturer or dealer. For this reason, we recommend rechargeable collars that you simply plug in via USB cable and recharge the device.
-
Is it easy to operate the collar?
The simple controls greatly simplify the overall handling of the device. The ergonomic shape of the transmitter, the distinctive buttons, the intuitive controls, and the clear display are great. The easier the operation of the training collar, the more comfortable, responsive, and thus more effective it is to use.
