The d-mute small light electronic anti-bark collar is a safe and effective means to help eliminate excessive or unwarranted barking in your dog. The collar is activated only by the vibration of the vocal cords of the dog wearing the collar on its neck, this system prevents the risk of false triggering caused by another dog barking. The sensitivity of the collar's response to vibration and the stimulation mode can be easily adjusted. The collar has a total of five selectable modes for bark correction and one test mode. It is possible to choose between an acoustic signal, three stimulation levels and a stimulation mode with increasing intensity in five stages. All functions are controlled very simply by attaching the magnet. The collar is powered by a replaceable 3V lithium CR2 battery that lasts 6-12 months. The D-mute small light is waterproof, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. You can use it in light rain and snow. The collar is not designed for swimming.

Overview of modes

The collar is factory set to mode "1" - correction by acoustic signal only. The correction modes can be set to a separate acoustic signal or an acoustic signal with different levels of stimulation pulse. It is recommended to start training with the collar set in the first mode - only acoustic signal without stimulation pulse. This way the dog will associate the function of the device depending on his barking, although the acoustic signals may not initially fulfil the function of correction, they can still help the dog understand that they always follow his bark. If you are already satisfied with your dog's response to the collar, you can adjust it. Adjust the correction mode as needed. The selected mode is recognized by the number of beeps the collar makes when you briefly apply the magnet to the marked target on the box. To change the mode for all models, hold the magnet against the marked target for a longer time and wait for the number of beeps according to the desired mode.

Bark detection

The Dogtrace D-Mute small light anti-bark collar uses the vibration of the vocal cords to detect barking. It detects the barking or howling of the dog using a built-in microprocessor in the collar. So if the dog starts barking or howling, the collar detects the vibration of the vocal cords and activates. If your device only responds to strong or weak vocal cord vibrations that are sensed by the contact points, you can adjust the collar's sensitivity settings so that it only triggers at the right moment. Use the fine-tuning screwdriver to decrease or increase the sensitivity of the collar. It is factory set to a medium value. Turning the small screwdriver wheel "left" (counterclockwise) decreases the sensitivity and "right" increases it.

For which dogs is it suitable

The dimensions of the D-Mute small light receiver are w.40 × h.61 × d.34 mm and the weight is 50g, the collar is adjustable in length from 18 to 53 centimetres. Its small size and light weight make the collar suitable for small dog breeds. There are four models of Dogtrace anti-bark collars available to suit different sized dogs. The D-mute and D-mute light models are designed for medium and large dog breeds, while the D-mute small and D-mute small light models are suitable for medium and small dog breeds.

Functionality testing

Function test is a mode used to verify the correct function of the acoustic and stimulation pulse. Connect the test gag pins to both contact points (loosen the contact points, insert the gag pins underneath and retighten). When mode 6 (function test) is selected, an acoustic signal + electronic discharge takes place (the test glove lights up) and the software then switches itself to mode 1 (acoustic signal). If the long acoustic signal does not sound or the glow plug does not light up, send for service.

Battery life

The Dogtrace D-Mute small light anti-bark collar is powered by a 3V battery marked CR2. The collar's operating life is in the order of 6 to 12 months. It depends on the quality of the batteries used. We definitely recommend buying quality Dogtrace or Energizer batteries.

Common problems

Dog does not respond to stimulus

• Recheck if the battery in the device is low
• Test the functionality of the device with a test gag
• Check that you have selected the correct length of contact points
• If the dog has dry skin, moisten it

 

Maintenance

• Use a soft damp cloth or neutral cleaning agent
• Once a year we recommend replacing the rubber seal under the lid
• Make sure to clean and clean the gasket after each battery change
• Remove the batteries from the device when not in use
